My Creative Space

This week I thought I would attempt the "never seen before " softie. This was a total newie for me. I heard on the grape vine about Pips work with the Mirabel Foundation ...( Personal Note: Daves Dad was a derelict alcoholic, lucky for him, his mum removed them out of a crappy situation when he was 10, so this one hit home a bit....if you get my drift.)

The directions kindly stated the following :

Q I'm not sure my softie will be good enough.
Don't be silly. As long as it's tightly sewn up and you made it with love it will be just perfect.

Well if that doesn't give you permission to have a go.....I'm not sure what else you need!!!!

Out came some Echino fabrics and a Melly & Me Hooty & Tweet pattern that I had stashed in the cupboard for ages, just waiting for me to get the courage to have a go..............

Ta.....Da.....

He looks like a penguin more than a owl. I didn't have the confidence to do the wings and ears... but I still think he's kinda cool!!

For more creative spaces fun pop over to Kootoyoo.

I love Hooty (or is it tweet)! I'm going to try and make Drake (by Melly and Me out of Kaleidoscope), after reading your post as I had been feeling exactly the same.

what a cutie...you did well.He has a charming look about him. I find softies rather challenging myself. But they are kind of fun aren't they?

Kinda cool? I think it's great! And it (is it a he or a she) looks like it's great to cuddle. It doesn't matter what kind of bird it is. It's just cute. That's all that matters :-)

He's very cute, no matter what animal he is. It will all depend on what the child who gets him chooses, right?
