What's happened to the SISTERS!!!

I went bra shopping today..........

It seems that in current years the sisters are SINKING SOUTH! A recent visit to the female change rooms (at the local pool) while the over 70's were getting dressed from their water aerobics' class has LEAPED me into action to try and avoid a bloody AVALANCHE!!

In I go to the shop.....

When did I stop going to the pretty section?
When did I start taking notice of the price?
When did I start thinking about itchy lace?

Its official............Have I just turned into my MOTHER!!!

Hmmm...probably when you had kids. That's when all of the above happened to me...and I am 29. Sad, very sad ...my poor husband!

Well, if that's true Leonie, then so have I! There's comfort in company I'm told ;) K

I am sure they are way better than you think. Its just that the only ones we see ( besides in changerooms) are perky 18 year olds!
so we are all made to feel like ours are haeding south.
nice bra by the way.

Oh you make laugh Leonie!

LMAO! I am so with you. I think that at some point we reach a stage where stop buying bras for their asset enhancement and start buying them for their comfort. It's the same with shoes though I've never ever worn heels. I've never really worn anything fancy in the brassiere department either. Ok , there's also an out and out daggy catergory for some of us too.

I agree with Melanie. Comfort over looks. I need new ones but dread the whole experience so never get to the store. But it's also one more thing I don't have time for...

HANG ON A COTTON PICKIN' MINUTE. That bra is a pretty section bra! Or at least as pretty section as it's ever going to get around here - I have escapee anklebiters to sprint after, backyard trampolines to negotiate...

I hear ya sister...it's underwire full support padded t-shirt bras all the way here!

My mother would say (as she does when my sisters and I tell each other we are like her), "Is it so bad to be like me"?

you can still get comfy supportive bras that are pretty and don't look like your mothers.;) I am 28, don't have kids and still have this problem :/ EE size chest would do that on its own :p

like Cath said, its seeing young women in the media that makes "normal" women think they have a problem when there isn't one.

LOL! Last year my mother and I went bra shopping and we aimed for the fun sexy section. Came home with a half dozen new bras ( I had been nursing for the 6 years prior to that so was in desperate need of something that didn't have a snap or hook above the cup). We had a very good time ... but you know what I've noticed over the last year ... all those pretty bra's DIED. I'm back to the utility sports bras which I know will hold the girls up AND will last longer than a couple of months of daily wear (I don't think those sexy ones are meant to stay ON for any length of time).

Oh yes indeed!! We have all turned into our mothers.
I have actually surpassed my mother: 38G

I too have been going for comfort over pretty. Sigh. Even (shh) wearing beige bras...

I am currently in the snap and hook above the cup stage, gotta remember to feed my bub off BOTH sides still though (he's 18 months so not so full on booby) 'cos my sisters have been looking decidedly lopsided lately!

Hahaha! I so hear you! When I bought my first non-materity bra in years (about a year ago now) I didn't even bother with lace or anything like that. It's all comfort now! I find something I like, work out the size that works, then just keep buying the same one till I get sick of it. Boring, but hey...
