My Creative Space

Its Ashas birthday on Saturday and I have been slaving away at a couple of little projects. First up, this Oliver + S Pattern. I did "bite off a bit more than I could chew" with this one. I think I expected it to be quick, easy and fast......well it was challenging, detailed and SLOW!! I have no regrets.....This "Kokka- Mameyakko Red Roses" fabric, from Kelani Fabrics (currently out of stock) is STUNNING.

Now comes the big question.....will it Fit?.....I'll keep you posted!

AND of course how could I resist a Poppy Doll. This time I used the wool flannel, I have to tell you....I can't say I would use the wool again. I am unsure if my product is a particularly "loose thread count" but I had loads of trouble with fraying also the flannel under the felt has expanded and caused a couple of pressure spots on the felt. I am not sure this doll is going to make the distance. I'm going to try some super delicious linen next and see if I can get it stronger. (I actually felt that my Scrap Fabric made a far stronger doll for a little free-radical type of kid!)

Oh.....I had best thank Kate for those wonderful treasures she sent me.....they have been FANTASTIC!!

that dress is so very fabulous! i love it. i can see what you mean - at first glance it looks like it should be easy, but then when i looked again and had a think - it would be much harder than it seems. still such a great birthday present and well worth the effort!
